What to Expect During and After SkinPen® Treatments
SkinPen® treatments are usually conducted after a numbing cream has been applied to the skin to minimize any potential discomfort. The length of your treatment will depend upon the size of your treatment area, but most treatments typically take between 30 to 45 minutes. During the procedure, most patients say they merely feel a slight vibration from the device if numbing cream is used. Pinpoint bleeding is normal and can occur in some treatments.
After SkinPen® treatments, most patients experience slight swelling and some redness or pinkness in the treated area for two to four days following the procedure. The sensation is similar to that of a mild or moderate sunburn, and some people may experience some peeling or flaking. Since the microchannels created by SkinPen® will be open for 24 hours after treatment, it is important to avoid products during this time that could inflame the skin. Light to medium makeup can be worn the day after treatment.

SkinPen® Results Improve Over Time
Within days of your SkinPen® treatment, you will see a brighter, firmer appearance. Full results will appear within two to four weeks after treatment. Ideal results are achieved with a series of SkinPen® treatments. To maintain your results, it is best to schedule a quarterly maintenance procedure to maintain and prolong your results. To increase effectiveness of these treatments, you should use a medical grade at-home skincare regimen.
